On-Campus Degrees: Associate's
An associate's degree is a fully recognized academic degree awarded by junior colleges, community colleges, trade schools, and vocational and technical schools. The degree typically takes two academic years to complete. It may be a terminal or end degree for trades and vocations, or it may be a foundation degree leading to a transfer to a four-year college and bachelor's degree program.
Associate's degrees may be commonly designated as AS (Associate of Science), AA (Associate of Arts), ABA (Associate of Business Administration), AAS (Associate of Applied Science), and AOS (Associate of Occupational Studies).
