On-Campus Degrees: Fashion & Interior Design
Fashion and interior designers are talented individuals who often enjoy unparalleled freedom in the workplace. Many design from home or out of their own boutique offices where they meet clients on their own schedule. It takes schooling, persistence, and a strong portfolio to scale the pinnacle of the design profession. Competition for clients is fierce, and openings with design firms often go to the most-artistic, well-educated candidates. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), competition in the interior design field is so strong that employers have raised the bar and now expect candidates for a job to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree. While many candidates can enter the field with as little as a certificate from a design school, those with extensive training and specializations will fare better.
